The IS0 9001 standard ensures that your company has a quality management system in place.
An even higher standard is the SIA Approved Contractor status (Security Industry Authority) the SIA came into force in 2006 after the Private Security Industry Act 2001 was passed through parliament.
Then in 2006 the SIA was actively born to license the security sector and help raise the standards, this meant anybody working in the security sector under contract from a security company would need an SIA license to continue to work in the industry.

This caused a major shake up in the industry and also problems for the SIA to process all the applications, it cause a major back log of applications, and with the system being new a lot of teething problems occurred. The security services in Liverpool where affected greatly as Liverpool was one of the first places if not the first to have to use this service.
The door supervisors in Liverpool where the first to have to be SIA licensed now it has covered all the security sectors where you need an SIA license to continue to work in the security industry. The SIA having introduced the license system, then introduce the ACS scheme (Approved Contractor Scheme) SIA Approved Contractor. This is a higher standard than the IS0 9001 being that approx only 65% of IS0 9001 covers the SIA Approved Contractor scheme.
This now means that having SIA Approved Contractor status, the company is working under strict government guidelines and regulations and offering a high quality service to the people, business, and establishments etc who require security service.
The SIA Approved Contractor status is their to help people when making a choice on purchasing a security service, which one to actually go for and what they have actually done as a company to make sure you are getting a quality service and value for money.
